Yeah,
It’s hot, the kids are on the four-six hours at the pool schedule and I couldn’t be happier.
Lest you think I’m lounging, sipping tall, cool ones, stop it.
The kids aren’t old enough or strong enough swimmers to allow for that type of relaxation. But they’re happy and occupied, physically active for prolonged periods…and yes into bed fast and asleep easily.
Can’t beat it.
My old boss was a hyperactive child, and the only way his mom could tire him out enough to sleep was to put in the pool. He swam so much he competed in the Olympic Games for Team USA!!!
Gotta love the post-pool nap. The Spawn takes one too.
Ohhhh, I’m so thankful to be past the need-to-stay-with-them-every-second-or-they’ll-drown stage of motherhood! I am SO not a pool person.
And I love summer for many reasons, but a biggie is the fact that Eric takes the children swimming almost every weekend, and I get to stay home. Alone. And WRITE! 🙂
My children have yet to go to the pool because the only pool that is big enough not to have the over-crowded pool stress that ruins our day is not yet!
So for now, the sprinkler park is good enough to keep the kids happy and allow them to be tired enough for a nap! Thats good enough for me for now!
