I saw this in the Post-Gazette’s Saturday Diary this morning. Diana Nelson does a fantastic job of getting to the heart of why people have a hard time saying “My yes, let’s help educate those who come from so much less.” She’s not talking education, specifically, but she ferrets out our inability to see others as being good people with troubled lives (yes, yes, they’re not all good) versus slack asses who deserve every bad turn their lives take.

What a wonderful article. The divide only seems to be getting worse – not better.
I know, Anti-wife–it does seem to be getting bigger. Maybe because people are feeling a squeeze financially. That seems to always bring out the bitterness.
