1/25/07 Yay, Girls Weekend!

Well, girls “thirty hours,” actually.  But I’m not complaining.  If it’s longer than that I get major anxiety about leaving.  But this is perfect.

I’m going to deep creek with the five women I went to grad school with and then taught with in MD and lived with there.

It’s been about 6 years since we were all together–for a wedding.  So I can’t wait.  Even the drive there with three of them will be fantastic. Believe it or not.  I’m very sentimental and the last time we drove in the same car from Pittsburgh to MD, we were interviewing for our first teaching jobs and looking for apartments.

More to come

  1. WOO HOO — Girls Weekend!! That sounds like a blast — I’ve just gotten to a point when I can pull off the occasional Girls Night Out. I’d love to have a weekend someday. Be sure and tell us all about it, so I can live vicariously through you!

“GNO” — as it’s referred to on our calendar — is always met with cheers from my boys (“YAY — pizza for dinner!”) and groans from my husband (“You mean *I* gotta help them with their homeowrk tonight?”). He’s actually incredibly cool about it, especially with all the hours he works….but I like giving him crap when I get that look from him anyway. 😉

  2. These are therapeutic and oh, so necessary. The last 2 years friends from college and I have gone away for long weekends. Don’t worry, the kids will be fine and they’ll be happy to see you when you get back. In the meantime, have a blast. Nothing is better than laughs with good friends…maybe laughs and chocolate and wine with friends.

  3. Hello:

This is Becky’s (Absentminded Housewife) husband. Becky told me you ordered my book. Thank you so much! I appreciate it, as I am sure Mike, my editor at Foothills, does.

  4. Hi Justin, I ordered it last week…I’m assuming it’ll be here soon! Can’t wait to read it.
Hi Susan, it was a great weekend…I’ll post in a few minutes.
