Hello fellow bloggers,

Here’s some nutrition to tide you over until I’m back to better blogging shape!!!

Aren’t summer veggies grown by neighborhood farmers the best?

I think so too.

What are you eating this summer?

I’m not sure what I will be eating, but you certainly have the right idea. Buy local! I’m thinking of getting into a community farming thingamajig where you pay a lump sum and go to a local farmer for all your produce. Now that I read the comment above, I think that is what CSA is.

I’ve just been out in our garden and brought in three huge zucchinis, a mess of runner beans, and a bunch of only slightly slug-eaten strawberries. Oh — and red currants. I’m hoping to get the rest of the berries in before the birds eat them up like they did last year.

Buying local is a great response to the fuel shortages and rising costs. Guess what’s for dinner tonight?

Dinner tonight is what the Mrs. picks up at the farmer’s market today, the modern form of gathering. Though I’ll still chauffeur her from Whole Foods (she can walk to, but not back with all the groceries).

I’m still picking fresh cherries off my tree. They’re yummy. Love the summer fruits and all the fresh produce.
