And though I post about celeb news and all the "things" young girls are up to, I know my daughter will most likely include some of these dramatics into her growing up years. All I can say is I'm glad there was no youtube and blogging to chronicle my adolescent/early adulthood years. As a matter of fact, last Thanksgiving two of my siblings announced that when I was in college, some of my dresses/skirts were slutty. Maybe so, but I had the bod for it, then. And funny thing is, my older brother, the conservative, fatherly one disagreed with them! So much of this is not controlled by parents and we just have to hope our kids err on the side of "not so bad." But it's interesting the way everyone views these topics. It's overwhelming and sad to think about the outside influences families have to grapple with... Hannah Montana is one of the only shows on Disney Ilet my kids watch because she is a talented, strong role model for girls. Even her cd is tasteful (no swearing, etc...) and speaks to youngsters about being strong, no body is perfect, etc...
